Kelly Swan Huck

WDF Director/Instructor/Choreographer & ADAPT Certified Teacher
Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Ballet, Tap

Kelly brings a lifetime of dance and choreographic experience to her role as a dance teacher and director of WDF.  She grew up dancing in Vancouver under the direction of Bill and Wendy Robertson where competitive programs took her from Seattle to Las Vegas.  Over the years, her training has taken her on scholarships, conventions, workshops and competitions to New York, Toronto, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles (MBS, Metro Movement, Gus Giordano Dance School, Broadway Dance Centre, Edge School for Performing Arts, IDA). She won scholarships to train at the Gus Giordano Dance School in Chicago for a full year, and another other to train for six months at The Henry Lee Tang School in New York City.

Instructing since 1995, Kelly found her passion for teaching while working as a full-time dance teacher/director for Sisler High School’s Visual and Performing Arts Dance Program.   Since then, she has taught at a variety of dance schools (such as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet of Canada) before she assumed ownership of WDF in 2005.  She has completed certified teaching courses with the Broadway Dance Centre in New York, LA Dance Magic in Los Angeles, and is an A.D.A.P.T certified dance teacher (Associated Dance Arts For Professional Teachers) in jazz and tap.  She has adjudicated for the In The Zone Dance Competition and for local dance studio competitions in Vernon, British Columbia.

Kelly is known to take pride in inspiring people of all ages to love and appreciate the joys and rewards of dance.   She is a multi-award winning dancer/choreographer, and has achieved great results in her competitive programming at WDF (as students under her direction have achieved great success).

Kelly is dedicated to getting the best out of WDF students by demanding passion in their performances, and focus in their training at the studio.  Her goal is to provide students with quality instruction, and to inspire students to achieve their personal best in a fun, positive and nurturing environment. She is proud of her dancers at WDF for their continued growth and efforts in class.
